- 1-19 oz. can crushed pineapple 560 ml
- 1-13 oz. can cherry pie filling 400 ml
- 1 box white cake mix dry
- 12 tablespoon butter melted
- 1 cup chopped nuts pecans, walnuts
- Whipped cream or Cool Whip
Heat the oven to 350F (180C)
Spray a round cake pan with non-stick spray
Layer the first 5 ingredients in the pan.
Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
Let the cake cool in the pan.
Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip to serve.
- Don't drain the pineapple! You need the liquid to help moisten the cake mix as it bakes.
- Spread the dry cake mix evenly. Sprinkle it right over the fruit, but don’t press it down or stir it.
- Cover the whole surface with butter. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix so there are no dry spots. This helps the top turn golden and crisp.
